Absconder Taken Into Custody After Residential Burglary
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, a deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the homeowner, who stated that a man identified as Casey Bowser had broken a window in attempt to gain entry before fleeing the area.
The deputy observed damage to the window as well as damage to the rear door of the residence. A search of the immediate area was conducted in attempt to locate Bowser. Due to the nature of the incident, a drone team and K-9 unit were requested to assist with the search.
During the investigation, officers discovered that Bowser had an active absconder warrant issued through the Arkansas Board of Parole. Additional units responded and established a perimeter around the area.
Upon arrival, the drone team conducted an aerial search but were unable to locate Bowser. Shortly thereafter, an Arkansas Department of Corrections K-9 team arrived. They were briefed on the situation and began the search.
While searching near what appeared to be an abandoned residence, a deputy heard footsteps followed by a male coughing inside the structure. Law enforcement personnel redirected their attention to that location. Bowser attempted to exit through the rear of the residence, but upon seeing law enforcement, he attempted to retreat back inside. He was ordered to exit the residence and complied with commands.
Bowser was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hot Spring County Detention Center.
We would like to thank the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the Rockport Police Department, the Arkansas Department of Corrections, and the Office of Emergency Management for their assistance in the apprehension of Casey Bowser.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
