Hot Spring County Man Arrested for Kidnapping & Other Charges

On March 14, 2026, deputies with the Hot Spring County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare-related investigation in Donaldson, Arkansas. As a result of that investigation, David Stafford was arrested and booked on charges including Kidnapping, Intimidating a Witness, Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in the First Degree, and Violation of a No-Contact Order.
Bond was set at $1,000,000, with electronic monitoring ordered in the event of release. Additional bond-related proceedings may occur in other pending matters as determined by the court.
The Hot Spring County Sheriff's Office is proud of Deputy Thornton and Deputy Purifoy for their professionalism, coordination, and dedication to protecting the public during this investigation. The Hot Spring County Sheriff's Office is also grateful to Chief Chad Ledbetter of the Donaldson Police Department for his assistance and cooperation during this investigation. Their prompt response and interagency coordination helped ensure the matter was addressed quickly and appropriately.
